What are some of your favorite movie soundtracks?
A
You know, I used to be a HUGE fan of movie soundtracks, but I hardly ever listen to them anymore. I am not sure what changed - maybe I stopped going to movies? The Sliding Doors soundtrack is how I originally discovered Aimee Mann's music (she has a great track called Amateur on there), and then of course the Magnolia soundtrack as well. I loved a lot of soundtracks from the late 90's/early 2000's, like Pulp Fiction... Garden State is the last one I remember owning and loving, and it was fantastic of course. I also loved instrumentals - The Talented Mr Ripley was a favorite of mine, as was Shakespeare in Love (there's a Gwyneth Paltrow theme here) and Jurassic Park and Forrest Gump. And Moll Flanders and The Brothers McMullen. I had forgotten about all of those - thanks for reminding me! Great question.
Hi Vanessa,
I just listened to your song "No Sense" it is one of my favorites ... what inspired this haunting song... do you have many opportunities to perform it?
Who are some of your favorite new artists (or new to you) that you've heard over the last few years? I know you don't want to leave anyone out, but any recommendations come to mind?
