Q

I like to hear from you, also when you are far away, when you describe your adventures on the road....

Yeah, I've been pretty quiet this past year - I wasn't touring much because I've been working on new music, and I got married, and things have been kind of crazy around here! But I'm getting back into my rhythm, and I will be touring this fall, and again most of next year... so there should be lots of zany adventures to recap. :)

Q

wow, this is fancy, Vanessa! good to hear from you

It is kind of fancy, huh? I'm sort of surprised and delighted myself. :)

Q

Who or what are your major influences?

Vanessa Peters responded on 08/13/2011
A

Travel is one of my biggest influences. Getting out of my everyday surroundings fires up all of my songwriting neurons. So does people-watching - which is, of course, super-fun while you are traveling. Also, just being in motion - sitting in a train car, or behind the steering wheel, or wandering down a street - all of those things inspire songs. I do my best work (or at least get my first strike of inspiration) when I'm on the road or away from my guitar, strangely.

Q

Excited to hear new stuff!

I will be posting new songs soon! I'm really looking forward to sharing all the new stuff with you guys - I know it has been a long time coming.

Q

What non-politician would you pick to be president?

Vanessa Peters responded on 08/13/2011
A

These days, it would be Dave Ramsey. Sometimes I want Tony Soprano.

Q

How is progress on the next CD?

Vanessa Peters responded on 08/13/2011
A

Depends on which next CD you mean. :) I've got a secret up my sleeve that will be announced pretty soon! As for my next original CD, we're going to start recording in September! I'm going to send details about the Kickstarter campaign in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!

Q

What's the best YouTube video you've ever seen?

Vanessa Peters responded on 08/13/2011
A

Simon's Cat is my favorite. If you've ever had a cat, well, here you go. You already know what's coming.
